Feature: ‘Spectre’ profiled in Rankin’s guest issue of The Drum magazine
The Drum’s October issue is guest edited by renowned photographer Rankin, who takes a look at the subject of honesty. The result is “Sell Me the Truth”. From whistle-blowers to big data to creativity and the climate crisis, this provocative edition of the magazine takes a long hard look at the advertising industry in the post-truth era.
The Spectre project is profiled alongside Sisters Uncut and Forensic Architecture in a special installment of Creative Works. Rankin highlights his favorite examples of activists and artists hacking the tools of our industry, from resisting the attention economy to occupying London’s tube ads.
The issue also includes interviews with Carole Cadwalladr, Sir Martin Sorrell, Oobah Butler, Munroe Bergdorf and Oliviero Toscani; comment from Jonathan Freedland, Alastair Campbell and Matthew Todd; and contributions from Superunion, Extinction Rebellion and more.
